Here it is at last - Rescue Child!
It’s such a confidence trick, writing a novel. The main person you have to trick into confidence is yourself. This is hard to do alone. – Zadie Smith
A lot of people helped me while I was writing this one - from friends on Facebook who encouraged me when I was stuck, to those people who were along for the ride when I was publishing on Write with the Accomplice, and more recently a few lovely people who did final checks for me on the eBook - especially as I managed to insert a few new errors in the process of publishing on Amazon. I am very grateful for all of you.
And then there’s my amazing artist friend, Tone Hitchcock, who designed the covers for me. I love them so much - and he was doing all this while working on some much more important projects.
Publishing on Amazon has been a real learning experience. The parts I expected to be difficult were pretty straightforward - as always, it was the stuff I didn’t know about that caused the problems. I might write more about that in future!
For now, though - this is my new novel!

Here’s the blurb -
Could Jen Blake’s life get any more complicated?
When her husband’s body is found at the bottom of cliffs near their holiday cottage, the police suspect her of murder. She certainly had motive. He'd sold their software business without consulting her, and blocked her last chance to become a mother. Discovering his girlfriend was pregnant was the last straw.
Doorstepped by the press and hounded by unknown stalkers, Jen jumps police bail, and secretly moves to a new town, planning to start over.
Then she discovers a child is being abused.
The police refuse to believe her but Jen is incapable of looking the other way. When she uncovers the truth, she is forced to make the most difficult decision of her life.
I finally have some copies to give away - that’s what I’ve been waiting on this week.
So please do share this post and tag me/let me know in the comments here or on my Facebook Page, and I’ll put you into a hat - okay, I’ll put your name into a hat - and at the end of next week, I’ll be sending them out.
A few paperbacks are available for readers everywhere - but I do also have some eBooks available for readers in the UK.
Here’s the link again!
I’m planning another post about how I wrote this novel, but I have a deadline looming, so it will have to wait!
More soon!
Ann
Congratulations Ann. Reading the blurb makes me remember a real life suspicious murder of my Prof's wife in my university town about 30 years ago which would make a good story.....will have to tell you sometime ....
